How do I Become a Charter Yacht Member?
A professional association like the Virgin Island yacht charter league is only as strong as its
members make it, its voice only as loud. In an economic environment where many others are
competing for the tourist dollar, the crewed yacht charter industry must have itself an organized voice
in the community to which we are a part. There are two categories of membership available in the
VICL; Regular (full) Membership and Honorary Membership.

VICL Membership
Full membership is available to all term charter yachts.  Associate membership is available to all  day
sail and fishing boats engaged in the business of crewed yacht chartering. Click here to review the

Honorary or Associate Membership
Honorary or Associate Membership is available to all businesses or individuals who are in marine
related industries that wish to lend support to our industry. Click here if you would like an application

What is the Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League?
The Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League, more familiarly known as the VICL, is the not for profit,
professional association representing Caribbean charter yachts in the Virgin Islands. It has been the
driving force behind the Caribbean crewed charter yacht industry in the USVI since 1968. Member
supported, it elects a board of governors from within; who serve on a volunteer basis for one year. It is
a way for hundred-plus small businesses to have a voice that can be heard.

The VICL is best known for the Caribbean charter yacht boat shows it has conducted for over twenty
years. The purpose of the show is to promote the current fleet of Virgin Islands charter yachts to the
worldwide network of charter brokers who then represent us to potential clients. The show is an
exciting high profile event. Old hands and newcomers among both yacht crews and charter brokers
and mingle at the multi-day event, which through seminars, parties and one-on-one yacht viewing,
mixes business with pleasure and enthusiastically kicks off the charter season.

VICL is far more than the host of the boat shows. Many of its endeavors though just as important are
far less visible.

If you are a VICL member you have met the league’s high standards of membership that
distinguishes you to charter brokers and guests as a professional. VICL member yachts are a cut
above the rest in their dedication to chartering, yachting and customer satisfaction.
